Project Spotlight: Atlanta
GDC has formed strategic partnerships in Atlanta to acquire and develop land. Atlanta was identified as a market with significant short term distress as a result of the mortgage boom, but with strong long term fundamentals. Through these partnerships, GDC continues to expand its asset base of 1,800+ units in 29+ communities.
Our partnership with the Pacific Group actively identifies and purchases distressed assets, primarily from lenders, across the Atlanta market. Acquisitions include finished and partially finished homes, developed and partially developed lots and entitled raw land. The Pacific Group team addresses any entitlement issues and/or completes the site development work in preparation for sale to a retail builder.
Another partnership in the Atlanta market is with a retail builder, Hewett Homes. As a respected Atlanta homebuilder, and through its strategy of constructing value conscious homes in superior markets, Hewett Homes is an ideal partner for GDC. Hewett Homes stands out as a builder who has adjusted to the current Atlanta market conditions and continues to successfully deliver homes to homebuyers.
